Many comments repeat themselves: “Mission ended”, “Fuel card included”, “Key bundle incomplete”. As comment templates, such phrases are ready to choose instead of being typed every time. That saves time and keeps the entries in the history consistent.
Take-out dialog: the arrow in the Comment field opens the templates, “Tankkarte liegt bei” is chosen and added to
Choosing a template
- Open the dialog, for example Take object.
- Click the arrow on the right of the Comment field. The templates for this action drop down.
- Choose a template – it then appears in the field.
- Add to the text if needed, for example “Tankkarte liegt bei – vehicle 2”. A free comment without a template is still possible.
Roles with the permissions Take/Return Comment (web app) and Terminal Comment (terminal) may comment – both set in all three standard roles – as well as Archive Comment when archiving, admins and owners by default.
Which templates appear
One list per action. There are templates for take-out, return, assignment, transfer, archiving and reactivating; Receive object shows the assignment templates. The terminal has its own shared list for take-out and return.
Per object type. Templates can be limited to specific types. You then see them only for objects of that type. In the example below, “Tankkarte liegt bei” (fuel card included) appears only for vehicle keys and “Akku voll geladen” (battery fully charged) only for radios; a tool gets only the general templates. The template texts are your organisation’s own – here those of the German demo account.
| Object (type) | Templates at take-out |
|---|---|
| Poolfahrzeug Verwaltung (vehicle key) | Einsatz Hausnotruf · Tour Frühdienst · Tour Spätdienst · Nachtbereitschaft · Tankkarte liegt bei |
| Funkgerät 02 (radio) | Einsatz Hausnotruf · Tour Frühdienst · Tour Spätdienst · Nachtbereitschaft · Akku voll geladen |
| Leiter Lager (tool) | Einsatz Hausnotruf · Tour Frühdienst · Tour Spätdienst · Nachtbereitschaft |
Having templates set up
Log+Key support sets up comment templates for your organisation; you do not create any in the web app itself. Send your contact person or hallo@log-key.de:
- the texts of the templates, separated by action: take-out, return, assignment, transfer, archiving, reactivating and terminal,
- optionally, for each template, the types it should apply to.
How to create types is described in Creating new types.
