Locations

Locations describe where your objects are kept – a control centre, the administration or a station, for example. Every object belongs to a location, users can be restricted to certain locations, and inventories can be limited to individual locations.

Three locations of one organisation.

What you see here

The list shows each location with its Name, the Default location mark and the stock figures Objects, In use, Available and Archived – so you see at a glance how many objects are out at a location right now.

What you can do here

  • Create: Add opens “Add location” with the Name and the Default location switch. The default location is preselected when a new object is created.
  • Assign to objects: in the object form you pick the location; the exact place – cabinet, hook, shelf – goes into the storage location. Objects can also stay without a location.
  • Control access: when creating or editing a user you decide whether they have access to all locations or only to selected ones, and whether they see objects without a location.
  • Filter and check: the object list and the history can be filtered by location; an inventory can be limited to one or more locations.

Who sees this page

Visible and editable with the permission Manage Locations – Admins and Owners by default.
