What you see here
Each row is one type with its name, the Default type mark and the stock figures Objects, In use, Available and Archived. At a glance you see how many car keys are out right now or how many keys have been archived.
What you can do here
- Create: Add opens “Add type” with the Name, the Default type switch, a Color and an Icon from a searchable list. Colour and icon make the type recognisable in lists.
- Default type: the marked type is preselected when a new object is created – in the demo organisation, for example, Schlüssel.
- Use types: filter the object list by type, restrict an inventory to one type, and base the default return deadline rules in the settings on a type.
Keep the list short: one type per kind of object is enough – finer distinctions such as building or locking system belong in locations or custom fields.
Who sees this page
Manage Types opens this area for creating, editing and deleting; View Types shows types in the object list and inventory. Among the standard roles, Admins and Owners manage; Users don’t see the area.
